Job Overview

The Data Analyst (DA) will extract, translate, and load data from various legacy EMR systems. They will collaborate with multiple teams among different departments to ensure timelines are met across the board and escalate any project risks. The DA will be responsible for providing all deliverables outlined in a project’s statement of work.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Configure and design data appropriately for a clinical environment
  • Engage with clients via phone calls and emails accordingly
  • Be available for recorded screen-share conference calls
  • Thoroughly triage and replicate any issues reported by clients and present to our development team
  • Quickly address and resolve any Tier 1 issues reported by clients (password resets, training, etc.)
  • Responsibly manage tickets in the helpdesk, including due dates, frequent client touchpoints, and status changes
  • Translate in an appropriate client-facing message any updates from a technical escalation point
  • Provide accurate examples, paths, screenshots, or other supporting documentation to escalation points
  • Maintain and monitor all work on escalated tickets to keep clients well-informed and avoid delays
  • Uphold compliance with security measures regarding PHI (protected health information)
  • Import and export data to and from multiple data sources
  • Write queries, stored procedures, jobs, and functions to support all types of databases
  • Resolve data issues and facilitate data analysis
  • Identify and assist in resolving all data and operational-related issues
  • Set up, transfer, and restore databases of varying types
  • Collaboration with peers within the Data Services team and adjacent teams in the organization
  • Responsible for quality assurance on an as-needed basis
  • Work with HL7, CCD, and various other healthcare data standards
  • Collaborate with customers and project managers to ensure the project progresses and completes on time
  • Create database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures while ensuring data integrity, scalability, and data quality
  • Contribute to knowledge documentation
  • Educate internal and external teams on the processes and procedures related to data migration and quality assurance
  • Perform a variety of tasks surrounding document conversions
  • Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the data and our customer experience

Skills and Experience

  • Passion for IT and for providing world-class customer service
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Reliably work remotely on deadline-driven tasks
  • Proficient in using SQL scripting
  • Python experience is a plus
  • Understanding of ETL
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare and billing terminology
  • Highly analytical, results-driven individual with great attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Understanding of relational databases, data conversion, and data cleansing methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success working in a team-based environment
  • Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) from an accredited university and a minimum of two years of related professional experience
